Portland Textile Month

 

Future Cosmos Flow costume exhibition for Portland Textile Month 2020. Selected costumes were on exhibit at Odessa, in downtown Portland. I hired puppet artist, Daniel Luce of Sacred Playplace, to create life-size puppets/dress forms to exhibit the costumes on. These puppets, sculpted to the measurements of the performers, can be posed in dancer-like poses. 

I created two new masks especially for this Portland Textile Month exhibition to go with each costume. These masks were made from sustainable materials and fabric scraps. I used techniques of applique, quilting, and pleating to create the masks.
